Insurance Commissioner, Connecticut President, National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Andrew N. Mais was nominated by Governor Ned Lamont to be Connecticut’s 33rd Insurance Commissioner. Mais is President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) for 2024, and he has served on the NAIC’s Executive Committee since 2021. Mais currently serves on the NAIC’s International Relations, Property & Casualty, and Financial Regulation Standards Committees.

For over four decades, Mary Lanning served as a regulatory consultant and compliance advisor in the U.S. commercial insurance and financial sectors, spending more than 25 years as president of ML&G Associates, Inc., a registered lobbying and government relations firm. Known for her unique approach to intervention and advocacy, Mary was a trusted figure in public policy development. Beyond her professional contributions, Mary was dedicated to community service as the founding president of YES!Solutions, Inc., a Harlem-based charity, and a driving force behind Boys Hope Girls Hope New York, helping underprivileged youth transform their lives through education. Her remarkable ability to intertwine corporate life with grassroots service earned her the affection of her business colleagues and countless others as simply “that woman, Mary,” whose kindness touched the forgotten and underserved.
